Tour Itinerary & Highlights

Kakegawa Castle
Kakegawa Castle was originally built about 500 years ago and served as a transport hub on Tokaido, an artery road connecting Kyoto and Edo(current Tokyo) after Ieyasu Tokugawa established the government in Edo. It was known as one of the beautiful castles along the Tokaido. But it was destroyed by the earthquake in 1854 and finally collapsed in 1869. Later, with the great help and enthusiasm of the citizens it was restored with a wooden structure in 1994, as the symbol of Kakegawa city. You can trace back to the days of Samurai period.

Tea Museum  Including tea ceremony
The museum presents a variety of tea histories & cultures from across the world and shows the production of Japanese green tea. It also has a tea house and a garden. You can experience an authentic tea ceremony there. There is a souvenir shop as well.
